Rec­om­mended: 3 sets of 4–6 rows per side (hold the bird dog)

WHY IT’S DONE: The bird dog is great for core sta­bil­ity. This is a way to make it more chal­leng­ing and in­volve the up­per body. HOW IT’S DONE: On a bench be sure the spine is neu­tral. Ex­tend one leg; hold this po­si­tion as you do a row with the op­po­site arm.
