Addaday BioZoom with Bluetooth $289

assage guns are relatively new to the recovery market, but they’re a welcome addition. Especially during a pandemic, when access to treatment can be sparse, an at-home massage unit is a game-changer for running recovery. Using any of these tools for even 10 minutes a day can mean the difference between waking up sore and waking up ready to run. Here’s how to know which tool is best for you.

MThe Addaday BioZoom comes from a company that’s been producing recovery products for years. Before their electronics line, they were known for their non-electronic tools that include balls, ropes and rollers, and all are designed to promote recovery.

While Hyperice and Theragun are better known, Addaday knows recovery tools, and the BioZoom is an excellent massage gun that gets the job done well, and at a lower price point. The unit comes with five attachments, all designed to optimally massage different parts of the body like feet, Achilles tendon, hamstrings, arms and hips. I found the shape and variability of the gun’s attachments especially effective for loosening my hips after a long session.

The one knock on this product is its grip, which I didn’t find as comfortable as the Theragun. The second knock is that the carrying case is sold separately, for an extra $50.
