MALINDI ELMORE of Kelowna, B.C., broke the Canadian marathon record at the Houston Marathon in January 2020, where she finished third, in 2:24:50. It was only her second marathon, and it’s almost certain to result in her being named to Team Canada for the Tokyo Olympics — a full 17 years after her first Olympics.
