CLEGG HAS BUILT, INSTALLED AND MAINTAINED 150 BARN OWL NESTS THROUGHOUT THE CHILLIWACK AREA

Clegg has been putting up nest boxes for barn owls for the last 27 years to provide safe places for the owls to raise their young. He has built and installed 150 boxes in the region. “Sometimes it might be years before they accept that nest and a pair takes it,” he says. “I just keep checking these sites and — ‘Oh, there’s kids in there!’ It’s very exciting.” More than three-quarters of the boxes Clegg has installed over the years have turned into successful nests.
