The hous­ing cri­sis be­set­ting some Cana­dian cities is even stretch­ing to sin­gle bees. An Ed­mon­ton-area con­ser­va­tion group is build­ing and distribut­ing “ho­tels” that pro­vide ur­ban space for soli­tary bees — bee species that do not live in hives — to lay their eggs, in­creas­ing bio­di­ver­sity.
