William Francis ‘Doc’ Graham

It is with heavy hearts that we, the family, announce the sudden passing of William F. ‘Doc’ Graham, at home, on Sept. 4, 2012.

Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of the late Frederick and Kathleen (MacIsaac) Graham.

Bill was employed as a plant chemist for 40 years with Nova Scotia Power Corp.

He was an avid golfer and a lifetime member of Lingan Golf and Country Club. He was a devoted member of St. Joseph’s Church, Reserve Mines, where he served as a eucharisti­c minister for many years.

He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Joan (McPherson); seven children, Geraldine (Clarence), Glace Bay, Karen (Mark), Coxheath, Martha (Gerard), Reserve Mines, Kathy (Howard), Ingonish, Sheila (Adam), Sydney, John (Nancy), Reserve Mines, and his youngest son and companion, Bill Jr., who resided at home; nine grandchild­ren, Molly, Evan, Nicolas, Amy, Lane, Ali, Holly, Max and Summer.

Besides his parents, he was predecease­d by his brother, John ‘Jack’ Graham.

There will be no visitation. A funeral mass celebratin­g Bill’s life will be held on Friday, Sept. 7 at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Church, Reserve Mines. There will be a reception in the church hall. Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, MacLeod’s Crossing.
