Ronald Peter MacKenzie, 51, of 18 Douglas St., formerly of Nepean Street, died at his home on Monday, Sept. 3, 2012.

Born in Sydney, he was the son of Gordon and Mary (MacEachern) MacKenzie.

He was a graduate of Sydney Academy and the College of Cape Breton. Ronnie was an active member of various dart leagues in Cape Breton and mainland Nova Scotia. He was an avid musician who enjoyed making music with his guitars.

He was employed for over 25 years with MT&T/Aliant and will be missed by his coworkers and friends, especially for his sense of humour.

He is survived by his sister, Barbara Rose (Kyte) Power; brother, John (Cheryl); nephews, Evan and Brent MacAdam; special aunt, Barbara MacEachern-Birch; aunt, Marjorie; uncle, Guy Sanvido; and cousin, Joshua.

He was predecease­d by his brother, Donnie and uncle, Angus MacEachern.

The late Ronnie MacKenzie will have visitation on Thursday, Sept. 6, 2012, from 6-9 p.m. at T.W. Curry Parkview Chapel. Funeral service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at T.W. Curry Parkview Chapel with Rev. A. O’Connor officiatin­g. Interment in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens, Sydney.
