Sessions hits late jumper as Bobcats beat the Raptors for fifth win in past six games

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Ramon Sessions hit a 16-footer with 28 seconds left and the Charlotte Bobcats made a late defensive stand to beat the Toronto Raptors 98-97 Wednesday night for their fifth win in the past six games.

The Bobcats led by as many as 10 in the fourth quarter, but the Raptors took the lead after a late run.

Sessions made a jumper from just beyond the foul line that hit the rim twice before falling through to give the Bobcats the lead.

Toronto had four shots to win it, but two resulted in blocks and Andrea Bargnani’s baseline jumper fell short as time expired.

Kemba Walker had 19 points and seven assists for the Bobcats, while Sessions and Michael Kidd- Gilchrist each had 14 points.

Bargnani had 25 points and Jonas Valanciuna­s added 16 points and 10 rebounds for the Raptors.

Pacers 115, Hornets 107

INDIANAPOL­IS (AP) — Paul George scored 33 of his career-high 37 points after halftime and Roy Hibbert had a triple-double to help the Indiana Pacers beat the New Orleans Hornets 115-107 in overtime on Wednesday night.

George made a team record nine 3-pointers, all after halftime. Hibbert had 10 points, 11 rebounds and a career-best 11 blocks, and David West and George Hill each scored 16 points for the Pacers (6-7), who have won three of four.

Robin Lopez had 21 points and 13 rebounds for New Orleans, but he made just 3 of 17 field goals. Jason Smith added 18 points for the Hornets (3-7), who lost their fifth straight.

Spurs 112, Celtics 100

BOSTON (AP) — Tony Parker scored a season-high 26 points, Tim Duncan had 20 points and 15 rebounds, and the San Antonio Spurs beat the Boston Celtics 112100 on Wednesday night.

Reserve Tiago Splitter added a season-high 23 points, many coming when the Spurs took charge late in the third and early in the fourth.

Rajon Rondo had 22 points and extended his consecutiv­e streak of double-digit assist games to 35 with 15. Paul Pierce, who sprained his ankle in a 20-point loss at Detroit on Sunday, had 19 points.
