Wanda is also survived by sisters, Wendy (Tupper) Chaput, Delores Ann Walton (Tommy), Debra Walton (Allan) and brothers, Sheldon Walton (Gail), Kevin Walton (Dayle), Ricky (Susan) Walton; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Wanda was the daughter of the late Richard and Mora Walton and was predeceased by her son, Justin Jenkins and daughter, Calyssa Russell.
Wanda leaves behind her pride and joy “Nannie’s Baby Girl” her granddaughter, Brooklyn Sehl and granddaughter, Julie Cole.
Mom’s heart was huge and she enjoyed the simple things in life. She was a very proud mother and grandmother, who devoted every moment to her family. Mom’s sense of humour and strength will always hold a special place in our hearts.
Wanda will also be deeply missed by her lifelong best friend, Bonnie Lew and her two angles, who were held in a very special place in Wanda’s heart, her sister, Wendy and her niece, Tammy (Mic) Aucoin, who have walked through every step of Wanda’s journey alongside of her.
At this time we, the family, would like to extend a heartfelt “thank you” to all of her nurses at the cancer centre and third floor west at the Glace Bay Hospital.
In honouring Wanda’s wishes there will be no visitation. Cremation has take place under the care and direction of Patten Funeral Home, 71 Union St., Glace Bay. Funeral service will be held Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, at 2 p.m. at St. Luke’s United Church, Donkin, with Rev. Chris Matheson officiating.
