It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mother on Dec. 1, 2012, in her 72nd year.

Predeceased by her husband Len in 2007.

Left to forever cherish Jean’s memory are her sons, Ken ( Jacquie), Bowmanville, Ont., Allan (Nicola), London, Ont., Darren (Tanya), Calgary, Alta.; along with her grandchildren, Indiana, Lucas, Lara, Christopher, Danielle and Eric. Survived by her brothers, John Glogowski and Frank Glogowski Jr.; and sisters, Mae Cousins, Sheila Glogowski and Brenda Bailey.

Predeceased by her mother, Aggie Glogowski, father, Clarence MacKinnon, stepfather, Frank Glogowski and sister, Patricia Ann Bailey ‘Sister.’

Jean was a loving, caring wife, mother and devoted grandmother.

She travelled most of her life with her husband Len, who was a member of the Canadian Armed Forces. With two postings to Merville, France, and two postings to Lahr, Germany, they had fond memories of their time spent in Europe. She will not be forgotten by all the lives she touched in her travels or for her work with the 591 Dunlap Air Cadet Squadron and as a member of the branch 08 Royal Canadian Legion.

A special thanks to mom’s friends and neighbours, Austin/Donna Lawrence, Bill/Sharon Pitts and Greg McLellan, for their help and friendship over the years.

As per Jean’s wishes, her closest companion of many years, Maggie, will be buried alongside her and Len.

Visitation will be held at the Fillmore and Whitman Funeral Home, Clyde Avenue, Sydney Mines on Dec. 4 from 7-9 p.m. Funeral service at the Carman United Church will take place at 10 a.m., Dec. 6 and will be followed by refreshments.

Interment with her husband Len will take place at Brookside Cemetery, for family members only.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Carman United Building Fund or to the SPCA in Sydney.

Online condolences may be made at www.fillmoreandwhitman.com.
