Margaret ‘Irene’ Boudreau

Margaret Irene Boudreau passed away Dec. 3, 2012, after a long battle with dementia at the Northside General Hospital.

Irene was a current resident at Minor Memorial Manor, Sydney Mines, and formerly of 24 Hillcrest Dr., Coxheath.

She was born in Grand Etang, she was a the daughter of the late Willie and Itha Rose Shomphe.

Irene was a nurse at St. Rita Hospital for over 30 years.

She was a member of St. Anthony Daniel CWL and a brownie leader. She was also a member of the Town and Country Square Dancing Club and the Bluenose RV Squares.

Irene is survived her husband of 58 years, Albert; sisters, Isabel (Bob) Watt, Dartmouth, and Josephine (Bob) Steele, Sydney; daughter, Denise (David) Groves, Calgary; sons, Paul (Pauline), Dartmouth, Emile (Diane), North River, and Marcel (Lousie), Halifax; grandchild­ren, Stephen, Benjamin, Patricia, Nicholas, Christophe­r; Granddogs, Blackberry and Tyson.

Predecease­d by a brother and a sister in infancy.

We wish to thank the staff of the manor, Northside Hospital and the Cape Breton VON adult day program for their care and support.

Family flowers only. There will be no visitation. A funeral mass will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 6 at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Sydney River, Rev. Duaine Devereaux officiatin­g. A reception will follow the service in the church hall, interment in Resurrecti­on Cemetery.
