It is with deep sadness and regret we announce the passing of a father, son and brother.

John Arnold Halloran passed on Oct. 30, 2013, at his home in Spruce Grove, Alta., at the age of 49. As a career John worked for over 20 years in the food industry as a chef in Jasper, Alta., and the last few years as a sales associate.

In John’s leisure time he enjoyed motorcycli­ng, golfing, playing hockey, and driving his sports car. He was a loyal and dedicated fan of the Edmonton Oilers.

He is survived by his parents, Jim Halloran and Arna Leach, daughter, Ashley Halloran, granddaugh­ter, Lily Halloran, sister, Helen Bowser, brother, Jim Halloran (Nadja) and his companion, Janet Hospes, nieces Janine, Jennifer, Alexis and nephew, Adamlee, and many uncles, aunts and cousins.

He was predecease­d by his paternal grandparen­ts, Ben and Greta Halloran and maternal grandparen­ts, Arnold and Helen Leach.

A memorial service will be held at Chants Funeral home, Alexandra St., Sydney, N.S., on Monday, Nov. 25 at 6 p.m. with Rev. Sheldon Chant officiatin­g, followed by a reception. Interment in Resurrecti­on Cemetery on Tuesday, Nov. 26 at 3 p.m.
