John Michael ‘Mick’ MacInnis

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear husband, father, grandfathe­r, brother, uncle and friend Mick MacInnis, on Friday, Nov. 22, 2013, at the Harboursto­ne Enhanced Care Facility.

Born in Sydney, he was the son of the late John and Margaret (Walsh) MacInnis.

He was employed with Pepsi until his retirement. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Mick is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Mary ‘Dorothy’ ( Scott) MacInnis; daughters, Darcel (Gary) Lewis, Dartmouth, Peggy ( Tony) Feltrin, Diane ( Marlowe) Weatherbee, Tina (Dearyl) Cluett; sons, Joe ‘ Billy’ (Cathy) Myette, Kenny (Sheila) MacInnis, all of Sydney; 13 wonderful grandchild­ren, three precious great-grandchild­ren. He is also survived by his sisters, Bell Smith and Betty MacInnis,

both of Toronto, Frances ( John) LeBlanc, Sydney, Peggy ( Dennis) Carpenter, Halifax; many nieces and nephews, as well as the extended Scott family.

Besides his parents, he was predecease­d by his two sons, Gary and Kevin, brothers, Frank and Larry, sisters, Theresa (Eric) and Delores.

Cremation has taken place. No visitation by request. A memorial mass will be held 10 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013, at Sacred Heart Church, George Street, with Fr. Bill Burke officiatin­g. A reception to follow at Chant’s Funeral Home, Alexandra Street. Burial to take place in Resurrecti­on Cemetery, Sydney Forks.
