SUNDAY TOP PICKS

-

1 etalk at the Oscars 7 p.m. on (ATV) Ben Mulroney, Danielle Graham and Lainey Lui represent the only Canadian network providing live coverage from the red carpet at tonight’s star-studded Academy Award ceremonies in Hollywood. This will mark Graham’s first Oscars since being named co-anchor of “etalk” last month, but if the newbie is nervous, her veteran colleague Mulroney is an old pro at these things. His mantra? “Prepare for everything that is knowable, and enjoy the chaos of the unknowable.”

2 The Oscars Red Carpet LIVE! 8 p.m. on (ATV) (ABC)

“Who are you wearing?” It’s always a big question on an awards night, and you can bet it will be posed to virtually every interviewee by hosts Robin Roberts, Lara Spencer and Michael Strahan during this pre-ceremony special. Nominees and presenters will be chatted up outside Hollywood’s Dolby Theatre, and their remarks might not be in-depth, but they’ll be long enough for ogling of their designer outfits. 3 Chicago Fire 9 p.m. on (NBC) All of executive producer Dick Wolf’s current NBC shows unite with a single story, starting here with “Nobody Touches Anything.” Firehouse 51 members worry when the owner of a burning house is found with a mysterious box, prompting the involvement of “Chicago PD’s” Voight and Lindsay (Jason Beghe, Sophia Bush). The plot also encompasses “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” in a related edition of that series. 4 The Oscars 9:30 p.m. on (ATV) (ABC) Having conquered the Tonys and the Emmys, Neil Patrick Harris moves on to host the movie industry’s biggest night for the first time, as the 87th Academy Awards are televised from Hollywood’s Dolby Theatre. Harris will get another musical workout, performing an original tune by the Oscar-winning composers of “Let It Go” (from “Frozen”). Adam Levine, Tim McGraw, Rita Ora, Common and John Legend are among those slated to perform nominated songs. 5 Girls 10 p.m. on (HBO) After doing some soulsearching, Hannah (Lena Dunham) has an epiphany in a new episode called “Close Up.” Elsewhere, Shoshanna (Zosia Mamet) has yet another disastrous interview, but it ends on a promising note, while Ray (Alex Karpovsky) attends a community board meeting in hopes of solving the high neighborhood noise issue. Marnie and Desi (Allison Williams, Ebon Moss-Bachrach) disagree over how to define their sound.
