Two international students face charges in Friday-night stabbing
GLACE BAY (AP) — Two international students are facing charges in conjunction with an investigation into a stabbing in Glace Bay Friday.
Desiree Vassallo, spokesperson with the Cape Breton Regional Police Service, said a 19-year old female international student has been charged with assault with a weapon. The female was released pending an appearance in a Sydney courtroom on April 2. A 20-year old male, also an international student, was charged with assault and two breaches of previous undertakings.
Police responded to a report of a stabbing at 335 Newton Street at about 1:30 p.m. Friday. A male was transported to hospital by EHS for treatment of injuries and a female suspect was taken into custody.
Vassallo said the man was treated at hospital and released and charged with assault later that day.
Both students lived in a house on Newton Street with five other international students.
