It is with deep sadness that we the family, announce the passing of Patricia McNeil, 94, at the Glace Bay Hospital on Sunday, Feb. 22, 2015.

Pat was a lifelong resident of Wilson Road, Reserve Mines, moving just recently to Williston House, Sydney.

Born in Birch Grove, she was the daughter of the late Leonardo and Carmella (Delvechio) Lessi.

When Pat’s mother took ill, she went to live with the late Adele and Victor Barro, where she spent her formative years and was affectiona­tely known as ‘Gillie’.

She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and impeccable homemaker. Her summers spent camping in Lake Ainslie provided many wonderful memories. In her later years some of her most enjoyable moments were spent in the company of her crafting friends. Her beautiful creations were greatly admired and treasured by those fortunate enough to receive them as gifts.

She possessed a great sense of style and retained her classic Italian beauty throughout the years. She was a faithful member of St. Joseph’s Church, Reserve Mines, and a longtime member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Branch 5 Legion, Donkin.

Left to mourn her passing are sons, John ( Jeannette), East Bridgewate­r, Mass., Jim (Orella), Prime Brook, Brian (Dorothy), Dartmouth, David (Isabel), Lower Sackville, and Myron (Sandra), Reserve Mines; grandchild­ren, John, Brian, Jason, James, Marcel, Jeannine, Bryce, Patrick, Chad, Derek, Laura, Tracy; and eight great-grandchild­ren. She is also survived by Marie (late Walter) Sampson, whom she thought of as a sister, nephew, Jack (Debbie) Lessi and niece Donna (Paul) Barrett.

Pat was predecease­d by her husband and constant companion, Johnnie, infant son, brothers, Dominic (Dorothy), Louis (Viola), Frank and a sister Virginia in childhood.

Visitation for Patricia will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 25, 7-9 p.m. and Thursday, Feb. 26, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in V.J. McGillivra­y Funeral Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay. A funeral mass for Patricia will be held on Friday, Feb. 27 at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Church, Reserve Mines, with Fr. Danny Boudreau officiatin­g. Reception to follow in church hall.

Burial will take place at a later date in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Reserve Mines.
