It is with heavy hearts that we the family announce the passing of our dear mother Carol, at home, surrounded by family on Feb. 21, 2015.

Carol was a loving mother and grandmothe­r who spent her life truly devoted to her children and grandchild­ren, who cherished every moment they spent with her.

Carol is survived by her children, Cheryl Lewis (Gary), Dana Neville, Alan Neville, Brad Neville (Karen), Shoneth MacKinnon (Wayne Smart), Staci Walker ( James); sister, Lois Smith (Gordon). Grandmothe­r to Andrew, Chelsea (Norman), Shannon, Braden and Ashlyn Neville, Jennifer and Megan Moore, Kenna MacKinnon and Aiden Smart, Seamus Walker and nieces and nephews, Kim Zablaska (Ray), Heather MacLean (Derwin), grandniece­s Lauren and Ella MacLean.

Predecease­d by her parents Jean and Mathew Hill and her brother Roger Hill.

A memorial service will be held at the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney at 11 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 26, with Rev. Laura McCue officiatin­g.

If so desired, memorial contributi­ons may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Cape Breton Chapter of the Parkinson’s Society.

It is with saddened hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Clyde A. ‘ Buddy’ MacKenzie on Saturday, Feb. 21, 2015, at My Cape Breton Home for Seniors, North Sydney.

Clyde was born March 12, 1936, to the late J. Aulay and Florence (Spencer) MacKenzie of Port Morien.

A licensed funeral director and embalmer, he worked for Sydney Memorial Chapel until retirement. His biggest passion was harness racing, especially having raised and raced his pride “The Track Master” and many more. Clyde was a lifetime member of the CB Horseman’s Associatio­n and inducted into the Horseman’s Hall of Fame in 2001. He was a member of St. John’s United Church, Port Morien.

Lovingly remembered by his brothers, Robert (Sonya), Kingston, N.S., and Donald ( Jacklynn), Port Morien; sisters, Lois Turner, Port Morien, Jean (Donnie Matheson), Stratford, P.E.I., and Ethel (Dave Fisher), Halifax; several nieces and nephews; aunts, Dorothy (Hugh Morrison), New Waterford, and Gertie Spencer, Sydney.

Besides his parents, Clyde was predecease­d by his brother, Angus; nephew, Bobby MacKenzie; brother-in-law, William; sisters-in-law, Thelma and Sandra.

There will be no visitation. A graveside service and interment will take place in Black Brook Cemetery, Port Morien, at a later date.

Memorials may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia, St. John’s United Church or a charity of your choice.

The family would like to thank the staff of My Cape Breton Home for Seniors for the kindness and excellent care given to Clyde during his stay.
