It is with heavy hearts and much sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved father, son, broth er, uncle and friend Christophe­r ‘ Troy’ MacNeil on Feb. 15, 2015. Troy was born Feb. 3, 1978, in Reserve Mines, Nova Scotia, to Frances and Wil- fred (Metcalfe) MacNeil.

Troy and his family made the move to Fort McMurray in 2007 to further Troy’s career. He was hired by Sunset Salvage and given the opportunit­y to complete his training for heavy equipment operator.

In 2008, he took a position with Aecon Mining, through the local union 955. Troy quickly moved up to become foreman due to his knowledge and work ethic.

Troy’s main goal was always to provide a good life for his two daughters.

Troy had a passion for the great outdoors and loved quadding and music, a passion that will live on in the lives of his girls.

He will be forever missed by Diane Maclean and his precious daughters Hailey and Ainsley MacNeil, Fort McMurray, Alta.; his parents Frances and Wilfred MacNeil, Reserve Mines, N.S.; siblings Belinda ( Danny MacKenzie) MacNeil, Glace Bay, N. S., Helen ( Paul) Brown, Fort McMurray, Alta., Craig (Dawn McLaine) MacNeil, Howie Centre, N. S.; and nephews Chad, Matthew, Shaun, Caleb and Chase, as well as a large circle of family and friends.

Cremation has taken place. A private service will be held at a later date.
