Whatever Happened To ...

CBU Alumna: Jennifer Howarth Job Title: Executive director Employer: Niagara College student administrative council CBU Education: BBA 2011 Current Location: Wellend, Ont. Hometown: Oakville, Ont.

Although Jennifer Howarth graduated in 2011, she says she is still proudly sporting her Orange Army gear.

“Cape Breton is the most beautiful island I’ve ever seen and CBU was a great place to complete my BBA,” said Howarth.

After graduating with an advanced diploma in public relations from Cambrian College, she wanted to complete a bachelor of business administration. Because Cambrian has an articulation agreement with Cape Breton University, she was able to accomplish this in two years instead of four.

During her time at CBU, Howarth was active in the students’ union and said, “Working with great student leaders and participating in wonderful programs that added value to the school and to the community enhanced my CBU experience.”

Howarth feels her time at CBU allowed her to begin her career in upper management as soon as she graduated.

“I knew what I needed to add to my existing diploma and CBU made it easy for me to accomplish my academic goals.

“In my current role I use the skills I learned at CBU every day. I have many great memories from my time on the island and at CBU. I can’t wait to go back for a visit.”
