Plea date scheduled for Sydney man

SYDNEY — A Sydney man is to return to provincial court in December to enter pleas on on a host of offences. John Wayne Burgess, 41, of Juniper Street is charged with three counts of assault and single counts of sexual assault and assault with a weapon. The offences allegedly occurred in August in Halifax. Burgess was released from custody Tuesday on a series of conditions and is now scheduled to enter pleas to the charges Dec. 22.
