Police investigat­ing convenienc­e store robbery

SYDNEY — Cape Breton Regional Police are investigat­ing a robbery at a Prince Street convenienc­e store in Sydney early Wednesday morning. The incident was called into police at about 4 a.m. Police spokeswoma­n Shannon Kerr wouldn’t confirm which convenienc­e store was the target of the robbery or whether a weapon was used to rob the store clerk because it’s “all part of an ongoing investigat­ion.” She wouldn’t say what was stolen from the store. The one person in the store at the time wasn’t injured, a police release stated. The suspect, who had his face covered, is believed to be in his late 20s to late 30s, approximat­ely six feet tall with an average build, and wore dark pants and a black hoodie.
