Police investigating convenience store robbery
SYDNEY — Cape Breton Regional Police are investigating a robbery at a Prince Street convenience store in Sydney early Wednesday morning. The incident was called into police at about 4 a.m. Police spokeswoman Shannon Kerr wouldn’t confirm which convenience store was the target of the robbery or whether a weapon was used to rob the store clerk because it’s “all part of an ongoing investigation.” She wouldn’t say what was stolen from the store. The one person in the store at the time wasn’t injured, a police release stated. The suspect, who had his face covered, is believed to be in his late 20s to late 30s, approximately six feet tall with an average build, and wore dark pants and a black hoodie. Police ask anyone who may have information about the robbery to contact police at 902-563-5151 or anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 902562-8477.
