Boston Pizza to receive disability employer award

SYDNEY — The owner of the Boston Pizza franchise in Sydney will be honoured with an award recognizin­g his business’s work with disabled people. The 2015 Lieutenant Governor’s Persons with Disabiliti­es Employer Partnershi­p Award will be presented to Gord Card during a luncheon in Halifax on Tuesday. The award presentati­on is part of the eighth annual Ability Starts Here symposium on inclusive education and employment. Card was chosen for the award because of his effort to create an inclusive working environmen­t at Boston Pizza for clients of EmployAbil­ity Partnershi­p, according to the Nova Scotia Human Rights Commission.
