Summer fun continues

Limited parking for weekend events at Indian Beach

There will be limited parking available for Bartown Festival events this weekend at Indian Beach.

Most of the spaces will be for accessible parking.

Festival organizers are asking people to consider other alternativ­es such as walking or getting dropped off at Indian Beach.

Friday’s events begin with a family pet show at 9 a.m. at Indian Beach followed by a seniors tea 1 to 3 p.m. at the North Sydney Legion; a yard sale at Indian Beach at 5 p.m. and there will be music at the beach from 7 to 9 p.m.

Saturday’s events include a washer toss tourney at Indian Beach at 11 a.m., Prince and Princess Tea at the Emera Centre Northside 1 to 3 p.m.; Cape Breton student dancers from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. and music at the beach from 7 to 9 p.m., a seniors dance at the North Sydney Pensioners Hall, 8 p.m. and the 11th annual bar dance at the Emera Centre Northside begins at 9 p.m.

The 42nd annual Bartown Festival continues Sunday with a beach party at Indian Beach from 2 to 5 p.m. followed by the finale concert at the beach starting at 5:30 p.m.

The Bartown Festival ends with a bang at 10 p.m. with fireworks at Indian Beach.
