FRANCIS, Georgiette Noella

It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Georgiette Noella (Smedberg) Francis, age 79, on Monday, July 18, 2016, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, N.S.

Born in Moxie, Maine, United States, she was the daughter of the late George and Noella Smedburg.

She was a wonderful, caring, loving, wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, stepmother to her four youngest siblings and friend to all who know her.

Georgiette is survived by her daughters, Lena Collette of Maine US, Linda of Maine, US., Vickie Price of Wagmatcook, Merry of Wagmatcook, Diane of Sydney, Nancy Ricker of Wagmatcook, Madeleine Isadore of Sydney, Theresa (George Christmas) of Membertou; sons, Henry (Charlene Christmas) of Membertou, Frankie (Daniella) of New Brunswick, N.S., Jamie of Wagmatcook; sisters, Eva Krouse of Maine, US, Anna Littlefield of Maine US, Barbara Quirion of Maine, US; brother, Harry Smedburg, Maine, US, 27 grandchildren, 79 great-grandchildren, three godchildren.

Besides her parents, Georgiette was predeceased by her husband, Henry James Francis; son, Chad Preston Francis; two Infant daughters; sister, Elles Smedburg of Maine U; brothers, Robert, Hubert and Alex Smedburg, all of Maine, US.

The family would like to thank the medical staff at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to her visitation starting at 12 p.m. Sunday, July 24, 2016 at 59 Old Nyanza Rd. Wagmatcook. The funeral will be held at Blessed Kateri Tekakwith Church at 11 a.m. Monday, July 25, 2016 with Fr. Paul Abbas officiating with Salite to follow. She will be cremated after the service.

The funeral is under the care and direction of MacAskill Funeral Home, Baddeck.
