Glace Bay men to enter pleas on fishery violations

SYDNEY — Two Glace Bay men are to return to provincial court Aug. 18 to enter pleas on fishery offences. Daniel Gilmet, 36, of Connaught Avenue, and Jason MacDonald, 31, of Dodd Street, allegedly committed the offences May 11 at Grand Lake in Sydney. Gilmet is charged with retaining more than 20 gaspereau, dangerous driving, obstructin­g a fishery officer and possession of fish in contravent­ion of the act. MacDonald is charged with possession of fish in contravent­ion of the act, retaining more than 20 gaspereau and obstructin­g a fishery officer (dumping fish while fleeing).
