TAYLOR, James ‘Jim’ King

Sydney Mines

-

We regret to announce the passing of James ‘Jim’ King Taylor, 71, of Sydney Mines, formerly of Kempt Head, on Sunday, July 24, 2016 at the Northside General Hospital, surrounded by family and friends.

Born in Sydney Mines on July 3, 1945, he was the son of the late James and Leona (McCarthy) Taylor of Kempt Head.

Jim was a very loving father who cherished each moment spent with his two children, Michael and Trina, on family vacations, summer days in Boularderie, or sitting down for a chat. He was an avid gardener and also enjoyed woodworking, drawing and spending time on the water. Jim enjoyed visiting family and friends, especially his lifelong friend, Harold Fraser. Many hours were spent reminiscing, corroborating past “adventures”. Jim was a heavy equipment operator/ mechanic by trade and worked for the CBRM for most of his career. Jim will be remembered as a hard worker who loved to make people laugh, lend a hand to those who needed it and enjoy a good “debate”.

He is survived by his son, Michael (Jenn), Westmount and daughter, Trina (Trevor), Sydney Mines; brothers, Bill (Barb) Taylor, Elmira, Ont., George (Kathy) Taylor, Bridgewater; sisters, Katherine (Lloyd) Grant, Boularderie and Barbara (Lorne) Redmond, Liverpool.

Besides his parents, Jim was predeceased by his sister, Sarah (Lloyd) Morrison, Coxheath and niece, Marie McLean, Sydney.

Visitation for the late Jim Taylor, will be held on Wednesday, July 27, 2016, from 7-9 p.m. in J.M. Jobes Funeral Home, 635 Main St., Sydney Mines.

The funeral service will be celebrated on Thursday at 11a.m. in the funeral home.

Donations in his memory may be made to Drummond Memorial Church, Boularderie.

The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses of the Northside General Hospital for the care and support of Jim and his family. The family would also like to give a special thanks to all the health care providers and patients of the Northside Renal Dialysis unit.

Words of comfort may be forwarded to the family at www. jmjobesfuneralhome.com.
