RUELLAND, Jules Leonard

New Waterford

-

It is with saddened hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our dad, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, cousin and friend on July 21, 2016, at home on Ledrew Ave, at the age of 70.

Born in New Waterford, he was the son of the late Willie and Margaret (Dauphinee) Ruelland.

Jules had a great love for horses all his life. In his younger years, he could be found at the horse track. His love for horses was like no other. When he wasn’t at the track, he was at Henry’s watching the horse races on TV or in the barn watching hockey with his sonin-law Vince. He enjoyed his weekends with his family and friends either at the campground, playing pool or bonfires at the cove, visits with his special niece Carrie and also had a special bond with his darling duck Ashley who he thought the world of.

Jules will be deeply missed by his children, son, Donald Ruelland and daughter, Shelly (Vince) George, both of New Waterford. He will be sadly missed by his five grandchildren, who he loved dearly Ashley, Dylan, Charlie, Bailey and Keagen; 2 great-grandchildren, Aiden and Avaiah; sister-in-law, Shirley; long-time best friend, Henry “Hawk” MacIntosh; as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was predeceased by his loving wife of 49 years, Diane (Mugford) Ruelland; his son, Jules Leonard in infancy; brothers, Eugene, Willie and Peter; sisters, Anita and Mary; also his granddaughter, Brittany Ruelland in infancy.

Cremation has taken place. A chapel service will be held on Wednesday, July 27, 2016, at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Deacon Leo Penny officiating.

Burial to follow in Mount Carmel Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of McLellan Brothers Funeral Home, 3183 Plummer Ave., New Waterford, 902-862-7500.
