It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our dear mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend, Charlotte White, age 88, who passed away Monday, March 13, 2017 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital with her family by her side.

Born in Sydney Mines, she was the daughter of the late Jerimiah and Elizabeth (Donovan) Whitty.

Family was the most important part of Charlotte’s life. She enjoyed the time she spent with her children and especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church.

Charlotte is survived by her four sons, Jerry White, Leo White (Sheri McDonald), Michael (Nikki) White all of North Sydney and John (Tanya) White of Sydney Mines; her two daughters, Florence (Peter) MacDonald, Sydney Mines and Mary (Joe) Skinner of North Sydney; her 17 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, Patrick; her infant sons, John and Simon; her three daughters, Kay, Adele, Veronica; two brothers, Lawrence and Steve and her four sisters, Veronica, Cecilia, Alena and Edith.

The family would like to thank Dr. Mark Sampson, Dr. Abboud and the staff of 4E An Cala unit at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital for the loving care given to Charlotte over the past number of days.

Visitation will be 9:30 to 10 a.m. Thursday in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home chapel, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney, followed by a funeral service with Rev. J.J. MacDonald officiating. Burial will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery at a later date.
