New members to be inducted into hall of fame
Five new members will be inducted to the Casino Nova Scotia Music Hall of Fame at Centre 200 on April 19.
The second round of inductees to be recognized for their contributions in promoting Canada’s East Coast culture and music beyond Atlantic Canada includes all people from the four Atlantic provinces this year and two from Cape Breton, including Natalie MacMaster and Joella Foulds (industry) Gene MacLellan (P.E.I.), Harry Hibbs (N.L.), and Ken Tobias (N.B.)
Last year’s ceremony saw Rita MacNeil, John Allen Cameron, Portia White, Anne Murray, and Brookes and Fiona Diamond inducted. The April event will pay tribute to the inductees with a stellar cast of East Coast artists.
The hall of fame celebrates Atlantic Canadian music, musicians and industry leaders who have attained commercial success while continuing to have a positive impact on the Atlantic Canadian music scene locally, nationally and internationally. The hall of fame is a place where Nova Scotians, tourists, fans and history buffs can learn about the history of music from Atlantic Canada and the significance of our music and artists (past and present) on the world stage.
Tickets are on sale now for the show, which starts at 8 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at Centre 200 or online at tickets.capebreton.ca or by phoning 902-564-2200.
