Kyle Bursey is a physiother­apist who currently works for CBI Health Group. He recently started working with the Cape Breton Highlander­s basketball team as well. He is still actively involved in numerous sports both playing and coaching. He enjoys giving back to the community especially New Waterford through coaching and volunteeri­ng.

What was your first job: My first job was a baseball grant for New Waterford Minor Baseball. It was a great experience and was a stepping stone in having an impact on me giving back to the community through sports.

What talent would you most like to have: I wish I had the ability to play an instrument like the guitar.

Coffee or Tea: Neither!

What is your favourite food: Spaghetti and meatballs.

Favourite movie: Superbad.

Favourite sports teams: Toronto Maple Leafs, Toronto Blue Jays and Cincinnati Bengals.

Pet Peeve: Facebook rants.

Which trait in people do you most admire: I most admire honesty. I would rather someone tell me the truth than hide how they truly feel. What is your motto or favourite quote: “If something stands between you and your success, move it. Never be denied.”

What is your favourite thing about Cape Breton: The scenery of Cape Breton. It was not until I moved away for a few years did I finally realize how beautiful Cape Breton really is as an island. Where is your favourite place to travel: My favorite place to travel to this date would be Scotland. I went to physiother­apy school there and the culture, scenery and genuine people of Scotland was something I will never forget.

Why did you choose your career: I wanted a career, which involved socializin­g and helping people in the community as well as having the ability to still be involved with sports.
