It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Bernadette Sylliboy, age 60, of Eskasoni. Bernadette passed away at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital on July 30, 2017 surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Sydney she was the daughter of the late Gabriel Sylliboy and Sarah Doucette.

Bernadette was a long time employee of the Eskasoni School Board working with children as a T.A. In her younger days she enjoyed playing baseball as a back catcher. She also enjoyed bowling. Bernadette was also a member of the Cursillo movement.

She is survived by her husband and loving partner of 32 years, Allan Linkletter; daughters, Alana Denny (Piel Piel), Margot Henderson (Pete), Kaylynn Sylliboy (Jai), and Faye Paul (Clarey); son, Ronald James Gould (Julie);sisters, Jermaine (PJ), Julia (Mike), Juanita (Johnny), Jacqueline, Elaine, Kathleen, Gabriella and Marla; brothers, Tom (Frances) and Stephen John; grandchild­ren, Jenna, Arianna, MacKenzie, Peter Jr., Brady, Morgan, RJ Jij, Scarlet, Malsum, Ramsey, Kayleen, Jadis, Kamden, Eliza, Nikova, Ethan, Lamont, Jai Jr. and Allan; great grandchild, Medrick; godchildre­n, Rhonda, Islop and Keevera, and many nieces and nephews

Bernadette was predecease­d by her son, Allan Linkletter Sylliboy; granddaugh­ter, Chasity Theresa Sylliboy; grandson, Nolan Peter Paul; brother, Reggie Sylliboy, and sister, Catherine Jean.

Visitation for Mrs. Sylliboy will begin after 7 p.m. on Thursday, August 3, 2017 at the Gabriel Centre, Eskasoni. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 5 at Holy Family Church with Fr. Martin MacDougall officiatin­g.
