Sydney

-

With great sadness, the Pezzareallo family announces the death of Louis Edward Pezzareallo on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at MacGillivray Guest Home.

Born in Sydney, Lou was the son of the late Vincent and Elva (Antinello) Pezzareallo.

Lou was a member of Immaculate Heart Parish and a proud member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 12, Sydney serving as secretary for many years. He attended Sydney Academy High School and then St FX University where he obtained his teaching degree. He taught school for 31 years. The first 2 years in Guysborough and the rest in Sydney at the Vocational School, Sydney Academy and as Guidance Counselor at Woodill and Park Jr. High Schools. He was a member of the Italian Association in Cape Breton. While as a parishioner of St. Joseph’s parish, he helped with fundraising by selling the St. Joseph’s even split tickets. He enjoyed watching hockey and was an avid Toronto Maple Leafs fan.

Lou was a kind and loving gentleman who loved life. Being an outdoorsman, he spent time with family and friends playing tennis, golfing, curling, swimming and boating to name of few. Many summers were spent at the St. Ann’s Bay campground where washer toss was always enjoyed. Whenever tarabish was played with family, he sported a good loser attitude. He loved camping with his family, making lifelong friends along the way. Lou had a good sense of humor and always had a good joke to tell. God Bless.
