Pauline Leadbeater was born and raised in New Waterford where she still lives. Leadbeater formerly worked at the New Waterford Credit Union as a financial services officer. One of her passions in life is volunteeri­ng and helping out in her community, which included volunteeri­ng for more than 10 years on the Breton Education Centre Safe Grad committee. For about 15 years now, she has devoted her time volunteeri­ng with Combined Christmas Giving including the past 12 years as co-host of the annual Combined Christmas Giving Telethon.
