With sadness, we, the family of Dorothy Gertrude Johnson, regret to announce her passing on Friday, November 17, 2017, at Harbourstone Enhanced Care, Sydney.

Born October 28, 1918, in Sydney, Dorothy was the daughter of the late Thomas and Rhoda (Hillier) Lake.

She was a longtime member of Westminster Bible Presbyterian Church, Sydney. Dorothy was a great hostess and her guests always enjoyed a good cup of tea and never left her home hungry.

She is survived by her chosen daughters, Linda (Mike) MacLean and their children, Dan (Ainslie) and Angela (Jason), Westmount and Gale Kelly and her children, Michael (Kate), Grant (Amy), Shane and Chantel, Sydney; sister, Vida Plumridge, Sydney and six greatgrandchildren.

Dorothy was predeceased by her husband, John; sisters, Jenny Cameron and Gladys Rudolph and brother, Clarence.

Funeral service will be held at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Monday, November 20, 2017 at

11 a. m., with Pastor Kevin Richardson officiating. Interment in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Nova Scotia or the Salvation Army.
