Female rapper is a Cape Bretoner.

When Shannon Long raps, expect a different kind of presence.

Cape Breton’s best known and perhaps only female rapper will be among the Cape Breton rappers taking part when fivetime Western Canadian Music Award nominated rapper Evil Ebenezer brings his Atlantic Canada Tour to the Allure on George on Wednesday.

Starting at 10 p.m., a bevy of Cape Breton rappers will open for the Canadian rap star, with Long among them, rapping under her stage name X-Plycit.

Originally from Sydney but now living in North Sydney, X- Plycit is a hip- hop artist who has been writing for more than a decade. She decided two years ago to take the leap into recording and performing.

In 2016, she released 20 tracks and collaborations as well as released her debut CD “The Purge.” Her second album, “Underrated,” can be found on all digital medias including Spotify, Apple/iTunes and Google Play.

This will be her fifth time opening for Evil Ebenezer and she’s looking forward to it. She’s become something of a road warrior, having toured across Canada over the past few months.

“I just got back to Nova Scotia I was touring for five and a half months — I’ve literally been gone since June 2 — in that time I’ve opened for Evil Ebenezer, Snak The Ripper, I did over a hundred shows this summer.”

In addition to the Wednesday event, she’ll also be performing at Dukes in Sydney Mines with other artists in a show called “Rapping Gifts For Christmas Daddies” on Friday.

Other Cape Breton acts taking part in the Evil Ebenezer show include Mangled Musik, Nomad, L’Nu Joker, D-Mattz, Shift From DA 902 and DJ Trew.

JYAY from Newfoundland will also appear on the bill.

“They really took artists from the different communities for this so there is a lot of Cape Breton artists performing,” said Long.
