BORGAL, Allan Joseph

Allan passed away peacefully surrounded by his children, Cheryl MacNeil (Wayne), Karen Borgal (Ron Hoolwerf), Nadean Caulfield (Larry) and Andrew Borgal.

Born in Glace Bay, Allan was a son of the late Allan and Edna Jean (Blackmore) Borgal.

He was also predecease­d by his loving wife, Josephine (nee Lee); sister, Jean, and brother, Sheldon.

Besides his children, Allan is survived by his sisters, Marion, Marie, Sharon, Doreen, Linda, Lorraine and a brother, Allister; grandchild­ren, Adam, Daniel, Tamara, Jennifer, Kevin and Noah; great-grandson, Archer, and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Allan enjoyed playing guitar and singing to bring cheer to the men at the Manor. Allan often served at Funeral Masses at St. Leonard’s Church.

He was very active in the community and will be sorely missed.

Visitation will take place on Sunday, February 11, 2018 from 1-3 p.m. in V.J. McGillivra­y Funeral Home, 380 Smith St., New Waterford. Cremation will follow. A Funeral Mass of celebratio­n will be held on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at 10 a.m. in the Parish Church of St. Leonard, Mount Carmel Avenue, with Father Ray Huntley officiatin­g. Burial will be in St. Michael’s Cemetery, River Ryan, with a luncheon to follow at the Knights of Columbus Hall, Plummer Avenue, New Waterford.
