Deeply saddened by the death of Stevie, Age 47, formerly of North Sydney, who passed away Wednesday, February 21, 2018, in Seoul, Korea. He spent his last days doing what he loved, attending the events at the Olympics in Pyeonchang, with his 12-year-old son, Conner.

Born on October 11, 1970, in North Sydney, Cape Breton, he was a son of the late Kevin Baxendale and survived by his mother, Carol (MacDonald) Baxendale.

Steven was employed as a professor at a University in Seoul. He had a love of sports, music and was an extensive traveller throughout the world. He was much-loved by his wife, child, mother, brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews and friends and family. Steven is survived by his wife, Sugki Kim; his son, Conner Baxendale; god parents, Joe Purdie and Hughena Gracie; extended family in Korea, and six brothers and sisters, Paul (Monique) Baxendale of Halifax and children Christian, Olivia;

Peter Baxendale of Halifax and child, Briag; Darren Baxendale of Dartmouth and children, Josh, Luc, Emily, Megan; Lynn (Trent) Coady of Dartmouth and children, Joel, Brennan, Aidan; Holly (Derrick) MacDonald of North Smithfield, R.I. and children, Rory, Hanna, Miranda, Cullen, Caiden; Nicole (Jason) Forrest of North Sydney and children, Abigale, Cole, Eliot, and Charlotte.

Cremation and funeral services have already taken place in Seoul, Korea. May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind always be at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face. And rain fall soft upon your fields. And until we meet again, may god hold you in the palm of his hand.
