DOUCETTE, Joseph (Cy) Cyril

Joseph born March 17, 1935 passed away on February 16, 2018 he was the

son of the late Peter and Dinah Hache Doucette of Reserve Mines, Cape Breton, NS.

Cy, retired from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, having served thirty-six years. He served proudly in “N” Div., Ottawa, “K” Div., Alberta and “J” Division, New Brunswick.

Cy was well known in the sports circle, an accomplish­ed athlete in baseball, hockey and golf. As a multitalen­ted athlete, in baseball Cy was drafted by Milwaukee Braves. In hockey, Cy won the Allen cup in Alberta, competed in the New Brunswick senior league, and coached the Dalhousie Rangers and Minor Hockey throughout the province. In golf, Cy set records, won N.B. Senior Provincial Golf Champion and was well known and respected by golfers in the province.

Cy is survived by his wife, (Betty) Wiseman of fifty eight years; daughter Rayna, one grandson, Ryson, Lakeville, N.B; son Robert, wife Mary Lou, two grandsons, Brody and Braden, Fredericto­n, N.B.; son Richard, wife Suzanne, two grandsons, Ryan and Adam, Dallas, Texas.

Cy is also survived by his loving siblings. His sister, Corinne, (Earl) Andrews, Brampton, On.; brothers, Rev. Bedford Doucette, Sydney, N.S., Leonard (Marilyn), Ottawa, and Lloyd (Patsy), Lakeview, N.S. Both retired RCMP. Also, survived by many nieces, nephews and friends who loved Cy dearly.

A “Celebratio­n of Cy’s Life” will be held at a later date. Cy will be missed!
