MULLOWNEY, William ‘Sandy’

It is with great sadness that we, the family of Bill “Sandy” Mullowney, announce his passing at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital on Sunday, February 25, 2018.

He was a son of Catherine and Alex Mullowney.

Sandy was a long-haul truck driver with a passion for life who had a fantastic sense of humor. He loved to drive the Ice Roads in Northern Canada and took 2nd place B-Train Class in the A.P.T.A. 2005 Driving Championsh­ips.

He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Mullowney; son, Chris Leblanc; mother, Catherine Ellis; sister, Brenda Charchuk; brother, Michael Mullowney; step-daughters, Cherie Cromwell and Angela Cromwell; step-son, Daniel Cromwell; as well as many grandchild­ren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews.

He is predecease­d by father, Alex Mullowney and daughter, Tanya MacIntyre.

A private celebratio­n of life for family only will be held on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at 2 p.m. at S.W. Chant and Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney. Light lunch to follow.
