It is with heartfelt sadness that we, the family of Audrey MacAulay Howell, announce her passing on Monday, February 26, 2018, in the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, at the age of 91.

Born December 19, 1926, in Sydney, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Stella (MacAulay) Richards.

For the past four years, Mom was a resident of the Northside Community Guest Home. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmothe­r and great-grandmothe­r. Audrey loved to play the harmonica and could whistle songs like that of the morning songbirds. Mom especially loved the Lord her Savior and a was a member of Faith Baptist Church for more than 60 years. She loved to sing and was a faithful member of the choir. Mom was a wonderful cook and liked to entertain by having church family and friends in her home. She also loved her summers in Mira Gut and in later years, at the summer cottage in North Shore, where family gathered and had great times.

Audrey is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Stanley; daughters, Janice (Ian) McDonald, Coxheath and Wendy (Sandy) Morrison, Sydney River; sons, Ronald “Ronnie” (Wendy), Sydney River and Ricky (Linda), Sydney; sister, Yvonne (Wilfred) Kaiser, Sydney; brother, Adrian (Marge), Sydney; grandchild­ren, Lynne, Scott, Ronnie Jr., Caitlyn, Joshua and Kyler; great-grandchild­ren, Callan, Breagh, Kate, Emmett, Hunter, Chloe, Aaron, Eli, Kairi and Dominic.

Besides her parents, she was predecease­d by brother, Donnie.

There will be no visitation. Funeral service will be held at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, February 28 at 11 a.m., with Pastor Rob Jones officiatin­g, followed by cremation. Interment will take place at a later date.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society or the Northside Community Guest Home.
