We the family are sad to announce the death of our mother, Rose C. Curry, age 74 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney on Thursday, March 15, 2018.

Rose was born on January 10, 1944 in Glace Bay; she was the daughter of the late Daisy Lewis and Murray Boutilier of Waddens Cove, South Head.

She spent most of her life in Port Morien working for H. Hopkins Ltd fish plant where she met the love of her life Danny Curry. They were married on July 25, 1981 living in Port Morien where they raised two children.

Rose was a member of Branch 055 Legion, Friday Night Dart League, Port Morien Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and an avid bingo player. Rose or Sister as many people knew her was always happy and lived life the way she wanted.

Rose is survived by her son, Allan (Loretta); daughter, Danielle (John); brother, Sheldon (Joan); sister-in-law, Ann Curry; special nieces, nephews and cousins.

Besides her parents, Rose was predecease­d by her husband, Danny Curry (2001) and sisterin-laws, Julie and Lillian.

Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held in V.J. McGillivra­y Funeral Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 from 1 p.m. until the time of the service at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Myrna MacMullin officiatin­g. The legion will also do service prayers. Interment in St. Paul’s Anglican Cemetery, Black Brook. A reception will follow at the Port Morien Legion.
