MILLS, Conrad

-

It is with great sadness that we, the family of Conrad, age 82, announce his peaceful passing at home on May 16, 2018.

He was a son of Conrad and Dorothy Mills.

Con spent his life on the water fishing. He worked with the Fishermen’s Union on both the East and West Coast as well as being Zone Director for Zone 9 with the Auxiliary Coast Guard. He was an avid sports hunter and fisherman as well. Once he retired his favorite past time was travelling around with his wife Alma, being their Grandson Mason’s biggest cheerleaders while he played his sports through the province.

He is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Alma, who cared for him at home until he passed away; his children, Jeff, Louis, Juanita and Glenna; as well as 16 grandchildren and one great-grandson. He is also survived by his brothers, Sam and Doug; sisters, Polly, Linda, Nell and Cathy; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he is predeceased by his brother, Ray; sister, Doris as well as a son in infancy.

Cremation has taken place. There will be no services. Con’s ashes will be taken to his favorite fishing and hunting grounds as per his wishes.

Donations in loving memory of Con may be made to the Palliative Care Unit of the C.B. Regional Hospital.

Special thanks to his family Dr. Greg Myatt, the Doctors and Nurses from Palliative Care and VON who made his wishes to remain at home possible; we can never express how thankful we are to each and every one of you for your loving care and part you all played in his journey. Also to everyone who took time to call, message, visit and drop off food during this difficult time, we are forever grateful.
