BRADLEY, Robert “Bobby”

It is with great sadness that we, the family of Robert “Bobby” James Bradley, age 82, announce his passing on Monday, June 18, 2018, at the Northside General Hospital, following a lengthy illness.

Born in Sydney Mines on December 17, 1935, he was the son of the late Charles and Mabel (Patey) Bradley.

Robert was a coal miner at Princess Colliery in Sydney Mines. He was one of the longest serving members on the Board of Directors of the Sydney Mines and District Community Centre. He loved to hunt, fish and play cards. He loved to play Tarabish at the Pensioner’s Club every Sunday and will be sadly missed by all of his friends.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Patricia (Sheila) (Capstick) Bradley; daughter, Patsy (Mick) Rose; four sons, Robert (Kim Boyce), Gordon (Pamela), Kenny (June) and Bill (Cindy); brother, Monty (Susan); sisters, Meta, Betty, Helen and Anna; grandchild­ren, Christophe­r (Jenn), April (John), Crystal (Graham), Katelyn (Amy), Alyssa (Ryan), Tricia (Keith), Kyle (Tonya), Brandon and Courtney; great-grandchild­ren, Logan and Maddie Rose, Abigail Bradley and Kyrie and Evander Bradley.

Besides his parents, he was predecease­d by his mother and father-in-law, William and Kathleen (Orrell) Capstick, and by siblings, Charlie, Russell and David.

Cremation has taken place. Visitation for Robert Bradley will be held on Thursday, June 21, 2018, at 1 p.m. in J. M. Jobes Funeral Home, Main St., Sydney Mines.

A celebratio­n of his life will be held at 2 p.m. in the funeral home, with Deacon Greg Murphy officiatin­g.
