Trial date set
SYDNEY — A 50-year-old Sydney man charged with a host of offences including using a vehicle as a weapon will go to trial in May.
Murray Malcolm Morris of Riverview Drive is charged with assault, assault causing bodily harm, assault with a weapon (a 2003 Honda Civic), failing to stop at the scene of an accident, dangerous driving, resisting arrest and assaulting a police officer.
The offences are alleged to have occurred July 9 in Sydney. Morris has been released on conditions that include he have no contact with four people, stay away from Cossitt Heights Drive, not possess any weapons and he is prohibited from driving. Morris is now scheduled to appear for a pre-trial conference Jan. 8 and go to trial May 15.
