Plea date set on mul­ti­ple of­fences

SYD­NEY — A 23-year-old Syd­ney Mines man, who was pre­vi­ously de­nied bail, is to re­turn to pro­vin­cial court in De­cem­ber to en­ter pleas on a host of of­fences.

Kevin Thomas For­rest of Cres­cent Street is charged with five counts of breach­ing court or­ders, and sin­gle counts of as­sault with a weapon, ut­ter­ing a threat and car­ry­ing a weapon dan­ger­ous to pub­lic peace.

The of­fences are al­leged to have oc­curred Oct. 9 in Syd­ney. A co-ac­cused in the case is to re­turn to court on sim­i­lar charges Nov. 19.

For­rest is also charged with two counts of breach­ing court or­ders and sin­gle counts of as­sault with a weapon (a base­ball bat), and break and en­ter. The of­fences are al­leged to have oc­curred July 17 in Big Bras d’Or. In ad­di­tion, For­rest is charged with four counts of breach­ing court or­ders and a sin­gle count of auto theft which are al­leged to have oc­curred Aug. 6 in Big Bras d’Or.

A plea date on the charges has been set for Dec. 3.
