Organ recital on Nov. 18
GLACE BAY — The organ at St. Ann’s Church will get a workout when noted organist Michael Molloy gives a recital there on Sunday, Nov. 18 at 3 p.m.
“In my opinion, the organ at St. Ann’s Church is the finest instrument in Nova Scotia,” said Glace Bay organist Jim McNeil. “It was built in 1985 by Gerhard Brunzema, who is a legendary organ builder — one of the best of the 20th century.”
The 22 stop St. Ann’s organ was built along 18th century principles that include classical voicing, low wind pressure and mechanical action. McNeil knows Molloy and says he’s been studying and playing the organ for the last 40 or so years.
“He plays extremely well.” Tickets are $20.
