The Show Your 4-H Colours ac­tiv­i­ties and cer­e­monies on Nov. 7, kicked off global 4-H events tak­ing place through­out No­vem­ber.

The 4-H coun­tries around the world are cel­e­brat­ing the 4-H move­ment.

Show Your 4-H Colours is about show­ing 4-H pride. Each No­vem­ber 4-H’ers from across the coun­try don their 4-H colours, get out into their com­mu­ni­ties, post to so­cial me­dia, do acts of kind­ness and spread aware­ness about the pro­gram and share their en­thu­si­asm for ev­ery­thing 4-H.

The 4-H pro­gram em­pow­ers youth to be­come skilled, en­gaged and re­spon­si­ble lead­ers who are pas­sion­ate about mak­ing mean­ing­ful con­tri­bu­tions to their com­mu­ni­ties.

It strives to pro­vide a safe, fun and in­clu­sive en­vi­ron­ment that pre­pares 4-H mem­bers to make a pos­i­tive im­pact on their clubs and com­mu­ni­ties.

Chal­lenges are now out for clubs and coun­ties in Cape Bre­ton and sur­round­ing re­gions to show their 4-H pride.

Let’s put 4-H on the map in No­vem­ber by shar­ing your 4-H story. High­light why 4-H is im­por­tant to you, a best mem­ory you have had in 4-H or how you have raised aware­ness of 4-H in your com­mu­nity. You can even add a video to your story by pro­vid­ing the YouTube or Vimeo link. All sto­ries must be listed on the global map on sub­mis­sion site. Pro­vide a lo­ca­tion where you would like the story to point. It could point to where your story took place or where you lived when it hap­pened. You can also pro­vide a ge­olo­ca­tion.
