A total of 38 elementary students chosen by the schools took part in the fun which included crafts, lunch and a Christmas story read by Cape Breton Regional Municipality Mayor Cecil Clarke. The children were each paired with a police officer and through business and community donations, received $250 each for shopping and a new winter jacket from Sportchek. Superintendent Ross, who has taken part annually, says, “Once you’ve participated you’re hooked.”
