Road still going nowhere

Cape Breton Post - - CAPE BRETON -

SYDNEY — Veteran CBRM councillor Jim MacLeod is once again demanding some answers on why Sydney’s “road to nowhere” is going nowhere.

During a recent council meeting, the District 12 representative brought up the topic of the road that almost connects Victoria Road to Lingan Road in Whitney Pier. The road that runs over the lands of the former coke ovens is barricaded near SPAR Road due to regulations having to do with the railway right of way.

He also expressed concern that the Whitney Pier overpass is costly to maintain and is seemingly always in a state of disrepair.
