Highlanders fall to Voyageurs
DARTMOUTH — The Port Hawkesbury-based Cabot Highlanders continue to prop up the standings after losing 4-1 to the Dartmouth Voyageurs in Nova Scotia Minor Midget ‘AAA’ Hockey League action on Saturday.
Ryan George scored twice for the host Voyageurs who outshot the Highlanders 33-17. Alex Roode and Hayden Welburn also scored for the Vees, while Andre Gerroir had the only goal for Cabot. Adam Tkacz shouldered the loss for the Cape Breton team.
The Highlanders are in last place in the seven-team league with five points from a record of 2-18-0-1, while Cape Breton’s other team, the New Waterford-based Jets (418-3-0), are in sixth place with 11 points.
